Packing is one of the cheapest places to prevent damage and one of the easiest places to accidentally add cost. Here is how the options compare.
Bulk packing
The lowest-cost method: many pairs per carton, minimal individual protection. Fine for rugged styles sold in bulk, risky for polished acetate and metal frames that scratch against each other.
Individual polybag
Every pair in its own bag, then packed in the carton. This is the default for most wholesale orders: it prevents frame-to-frame contact for a small per-unit cost and keeps pairs clean for retail handling.
Pouch or case
A cloth pouch or a hard case adds perceived value and protects the lens. On promotional and retail-bound orders this is often the difference between a product that looks complete and one that looks unfinished.
Display-ready
Retail-ready cartons, hang tags and price-tag positions save your customer time and are worth charging for — or worth offering as a reason to be chosen over a cheaper competitor.
What to specify
- Inner carton protection (individual bags or dividers)
- Carton weight limits so boxes stay manageable
- Labels: style, colour, quantity, and your own information if needed
- Photographs of the packed cartons before shipment
