COMPLIANCE

Certifications & Compliance

What our eyewear is tested against, what paperwork travels with your order, and who is responsible for what. No surprises at customs.

Sunglasses

EN ISO 12312-1 — The current European standard for sunglasses and fashion eyewear. It superseded EN 1836 and EN 166 for this product class; test reports are available per order.

US FDA — Class I — Sunglasses are Class I devices in the United States, which means they are exempt from premarket notification (510(k)) but must still be compliant.

21 CFR 801.410 — The US impact-resistance requirement for prescription and non-prescription eyewear. Our lenses are tested against it and reports are available.

UV400 — Lenses block UVA and UVB up to 400 nm — the baseline protection claim across our sunglasses range.

CE marking — Applied where the product falls within the applicable European requirements.

What Travels With Your Order

Each order is supplied with the compliance pack your importer will ask for: test reports covering UV transmission and impact resistance, a Declaration of Conformity, and packing and carton data. Batch and customs certification is handled through our freight partners; if your destination needs a specific scheme, tell us at enquiry stage and we will confirm what we can supply before you commit.

Who Is Responsible for What

Compliance responsibility in eyewear is shared, so it is worth being precise. The factory is the manufacturer for the purpose of the EU Declaration of Conformity. We collect and pass on the reports and DoC with your shipment. You, as the importer or brand owner in your market, are responsible for the regulatory registration that applies where you sell. We will tell you plainly what we hold and what we do not.

Need a Specific Certificate?

Tell us the destination market at enquiry stage and we will confirm exactly what can be supplied with your order.
