Deposits are transferred on trust in a category where trust is hard to verify remotely. These checks take a few days and remove most of the risk.
Document checks
- Business registration and, where relevant, export licence.
- Test reports for the products you are buying (UV400, impact resistance).
- A written specification for the exact styles quoted — not a generic catalogue.
Behaviour checks
- Does the supplier answer specific technical questions, or only send price lists?
- Is the quoted price consistent with the specification — or suspiciously below it?
- Do they tell you what they cannot do? Suppliers who say yes to everything are the riskiest ones.
Start with a sample order
Order samples of the styles you intend to buy and inspect them the way you would inspect a shipment: on light, hinges tested, labels checked. A sample is the cheapest risk assessment available.
Protect the payment
- Keep the first order small relative to your total budget.
- Tie the balance to shipping documents or inspection, not to promises.
- Pay to the company’s own account, not a third party’s.
We answer specification questions in writing and are happy to start with samples. Ask for samples.
